Your licence

Resibook is free to try for 14 days. After that you need a licence to keep working in your books. There are two kinds.

  • Lifetime licence, $245 once. It never ends and includes every future version of Resibook.
  • Monthly plan, $15 a month. It renews by itself while your subscription is active.

A licence is for one computer at a time. You can move it to another one whenever you like.

See where you stand

  1. Choose Settings in the sidebar.
  2. In the Licence card, choose Open →.

You're on Licence. Under Your licence you see, for example, "11 days left of your 14-day trial, through Nov 7, 2026. Everything works until then." Beside it, Full access or Read-only.

Buy a licence

  1. On the Licence page, choose Buy a licence. Your web browser opens Resibook's buying page.
  2. Pick the lifetime licence or the monthly plan, and pay.

Your receipt comes by email with your licence key.

Enter your key

  1. On the Licence page, under Enter a licence, paste the key from your receipt into Licence key, from your receipt.
  2. Choose Activate.

Your computer needs to be online for this. Under Your licence you now see Lifetime licence ("Licensed to … It never ends.") or Monthly licence with the day it runs through, and Full access.

Entering a key sends that key, Resibook's version and this computer's code to the licence server, once, and nothing from your books. The page says this under What is sent.

If you were sent a licence file instead of a key, choose Open a licence file… and pick it. That works offline.

Move to another computer

  1. On the old computer, open Settings › Licence.
  2. Choose Move to another computer….

Resibook asks Move to another computer? This computer turns read-only, and your books stay on it.

  1. Choose Move it.
  2. On the new computer, install Resibook and enter the same key, as above.

Your books don't move with the licence. To take them along, make a backup on the old computer and restore it on the new one. See Back up and protect your books.

If you enter a key that's still on another computer, Resibook says the key is in use on another computer. Move it from Settings › Licence on that computer first.

How a monthly licence renews

From 7 days before your licence ends, Resibook asks the licence server for the next month's licence. It asks each time Resibook starts, and at most once a day while it's open. It sends your licence key, Resibook's version and this computer's code, and nothing from your books. Without internet it simply tries again later.

Each try is listed under Renewals on the Licence page.

A lifetime licence never contacts anything, unless you move it to another computer. The trial contacts nothing.

When Resibook is read-only

Resibook turns read-only when the trial ends without a licence, when a monthly plan stops renewing (for example you cancelled it) and its last day has passed, or on a computer you moved the licence away from.

Read-only means your books are safe and still open. You can view, export and back them up. You can't add, change or approve anything. A banner says why, with Buy a licence and Enter licence.

To work in your books again, enter a licence. Everything you did before is still there.
