Resibook is bookkeeping software made by Miguel Regaspi. This page explains what the Resibook website, its demo and the Resibook app do with information about you. The short answer is very little, and none of it is your books.

Your books

Your books live in a file on your own computer. There is no Resibook account and no copy on any server, and we never see what is in your books. Nothing from your books leaves your computer unless you connect an AI service, and then only what each task needs, as described below. Resibook collects no usage statistics and no crash reports.

Backups, exports, year packs and e-invoice files are files you save where you choose, and Resibook never sends them anywhere. Exported files aren't protected by your password, so keep them as carefully as you would a printed bank statement. If you lock your book with a password, Resibook shows you a 15-word recovery phrase once. We have no copy of either, so we can't open a locked book for you.

When the app goes online

Resibook works without an internet connection. It goes online for two things only, and only in the ways described here.

The first is your licence. When you enter a licence key, when you move it to another computer, and when a monthly licence renews, Resibook sends three things to Resibook's licence server. They are the licence key, the version of Resibook, and a code for your computer. That code is made from your computer's identity in a way that can't be turned back into it, and it is different for every key. The server checks the key with Lemon Squeezy, which records that the key is in use on that code. The server keeps nothing itself and writes no log of its own. It runs on Cloudflare, whose network sees your internet address while it answers, and Cloudflare's privacy policy covers that. The licence it sends back is saved on your computer and carries the name on your receipt.

A monthly licence renews by itself. From 7 days before its month ends, it asks when Resibook starts and then at most once a day, or an hour later if it couldn't connect, until the renewal comes through. A lifetime licence contacts the server only when you enter it or move it. The free trial never contacts it.

The second is AI, and only if you set it up. AI features stay off until you connect an AI service yourself. A model running on your own computer keeps everything there. A cloud service you connect with your own account receives what each task needs, under your own agreement with that service. Each task sends the least it needs, never your whole book and never ID numbers, and Resibook's AI activity log shows what was sent, to whom, when and how much. An agent app you connect reads only what you allow for that connection, never ID numbers, and each read is in the AI activity log too. What that app does with it is between you and that app. None of it comes to us.

Updates come through the Microsoft Store, under Microsoft's own privacy statement. The Buy a licence button opens this website in your browser.

This website

This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics, advertising tags or social media buttons. It has no forms, so we hold nothing you've typed into it. Its fonts and images come from the site itself. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, and like any web host, Cloudflare's servers see your internet address and the page you asked for in order to deliver it. We don't receive or keep those records.

The demo runs entirely in your browser with a made-up company, Kitepost, Inc. Nothing you do in it is sent anywhere or saved, and it starts fresh when you reload the page.

Buying a licence

Licences are sold by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record. Its checkout collects your payment details and what it needs for tax, such as your country, and its own privacy policy covers them. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy shares the order with us, including your name, your email address and what you bought. We use that only to look after your licence, to answer you, and to keep the records a seller must keep for tax. Lemon Squeezy emails you the licence key and the receipt.

Writing to us

If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you, and for nothing else. We will never ask for your book file, your password or your recovery phrase.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@resibook.app. We'll answer within 30 days. Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires, and Lemon Squeezy answers for what it holds. We don't sell information about anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a future version of Resibook goes online for anything new, that will be off until you turn it on, and this page will change before that version is released.
