Importing statements
The files Resibook reads
Resibook reads statements as files you download from your bank: CSV, Excel, OFX, QFX, QBO, QIF, MT940 and CAMT.053. It never connects to your bank.
One account and one currency per file
Before you choose a file, pick the currency the statement is in and the account it belongs to. A file holds one account. If the statement's currency is not the one you picked, Resibook says so and brings nothing in.
Balances and repeats
Where a file carries its opening and closing balances, Resibook checks that the rows add up to them, and brings nothing in if they don't. Rows it has already seen are skipped, so importing the same statement twice does no harm.
Review
Imported rows wait in Review. Rules you can read sort the usual rows first. Whatever they miss waits for you to pick an account. When you approve a row it becomes an entry in your books, and Resibook learns a rule from it for next time.
Taking an import back
An import can be undone as a whole from Changes. Entries you approved from it are reversed, never deleted, so your history stays complete.
