Backup and recovery phrase

Your books are one file

Resibook keeps your books in a file on your own computer. There is no copy anywhere else, so keeping backups is up to you.

Back up

Open Settings › Data & Backup and save a backup where you choose, such as an external drive. Do it regularly, and before big changes.

Restore

From the same screen, Restore puts a backup in place of your book. Resibook keeps a safety copy of the book it replaces first.

The password lock

You can lock your book with a password. When you do, Resibook shows a 15-word recovery phrase once. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe, away from your computer.

The password or the phrase opens a locked book. Nobody else has a copy, including us, so we cannot open a locked book for you or recover a forgotten password.

Exported files

Exports aren't protected by your password. Keep them as carefully as you would a printed bank statement.

Check my book

Settings › Data & Backup also has Check my book, which looks for problems in the book file and tells you what it found. It never changes anything.
